The DueCi armchair was made using an innovative production process currently under patent pending.
This is a process for making upholstered furniture of complex and irregular shapes, the geometries of which are impossible to replicate by hand.
The system involves, starting with a 3D model, "slicing" the object into horizontal sections of varying thickness.
These sections are then cut on polyurethane foam using a laser cutting machine.
Byassembling the resulting sections, the solid can be reconstructed exactly as per the initial drawing.
