Chesterfield velvet sofa

Description

The Chesterfield sofa, an icon of timeless style, was invented in England in the 18th century and is still popular today as a symbol of style, luxury and elegance.

Capitonné work is the hallmark of an authentic Chesterfield. The diamond quilting is done by hand and is stopped by covered buttons, which keep the upholstery in perfect tension.

The rounded armrest blends seamlessly with the backrest and has vaulted, asymmetrical pleats at the front.

Originally made of genuine leather, today it is also popular in velvet.

The feet are usually made of turned wood, with a polished or matte walnut finish.

Materials and capitonné workmanship

Capitonné work is synonymous with elegance and craftsmanship.

Making it requires experience and precision: each button is fastened by hand, creating a dense quilting pattern that gives rise to the characteristic diamond effect.

Each anchor point is the result of meticulous work, enhancing the softness of the upholstery and the quality of the cover.

The upholstery velvet was selected from the Nobilis collection.

This is a polyester velvet with stain-resistant characteristics, with a soft and silky hand and a lustrous and sophisticated effect. Its sturdy and compact structure makes it ideal for fine upholstery.
